NOTICE: I currently offer seat checks a handful of times a month. If that doesn’t work for your schedule, you can email me and we can see if a different date is available.
Is your car seat installed right? If it isn’t it might as well be on the roof.
Head below to make your appointment because out of all the seats I’ve checked, maybe a handful were in correctly.
There’s no shame, no judgment, I just want your precious cargo riding safe.
When you place your child in their seat you want to pretend that you’re going to be in the worst accident you can imagine, because that’s what accidents are, totally unexpected. Expect the worst, hope for the best.
Give your child the best possible chance.
Not all police officers or firefighters are trained to install carseats. You need to find a certified child passenger safety technician. (Good thing you already did, it’s me!). If I am not close enough to you, or you’d like to use a different tech, please check out www.seatcheck.org for certified technicians.
Children should remain rear-facing as long as possible, at least until age 2 or until they reach the height/weight max their seat allows for rear-facing.
NYS law states that children under age 8 need to be restrained in a child safety seat; usually a booster seat is appropriate after age 5 depending on the height/weight of the child, their maturity, and if they fit in the booster properly.
After market products are not safety tested. This includes roller window shades, sleeping bag type products, under the seat mats, and anything not sold with your car seat. Using these products will potentially void your car seat warranty and may cause serious injuries or even death to your child in the event of an accident.
IS THERE A CHARGE FOR THIS…
