The Moccasins of My Dreams…

Freshly Picked MoccasinsSo when I was pregnant I wanted a girl so badly. The little girl I nannied for I had watched since she was 3 months old, and getting her dressed some morning was seriously one of the most fun parts of the job. Who doesn’t love to dress up a tiny person?? So I was thrilled to find out I was expecting a little girl. I set out on searching the internet to find all the fun, little girl stuff out there to dress her in. Most of Laney’s clothing comes from GAP, which is mostly out of sheer convenience and it fits our style. I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of mama, with a  side of TOMS. I tend to dress Laney with some flair. She has worn jeans since she was a few weeks old and headbands are a big favorite of ours. But there’s one thing she definitely rivals me with… SHOES! My mother says Laney has more shoes than she does. I had come across Freshly Picked’s moccasins at some point when I was pregnant. I think it was on Instagram. I was thrilled that they had gold ones, because when I was nannying the girl I watched had gold sneakers and you’d be amazed at how gold shoes dress up everything!

So, let’s move forward a little bit. I am also a huge fan of Shark Tank! So I was so excited when I heard that Susan Petersen, the owner of Freshly Picked was going to be on an episode. After seeing her amazing story I was blown away! She started her business with basically no money, and truly climbed her way up from the trenches. The full episode can be watched on ABC.com.

IMG_6597So what is so great about Freshly Picked moccasins? Certainly not their price, at $60 a pair it’s a hard pill to swallow. However, once I held the pair in my hands I would definitely buy another pair. They are very well made and I can see them lasting for multiple children. They actually stay on Laney’s feet, and she has super small feet (she still wears a 0-3m shoe! Takes after her grandma there!). The ones she has on are a size 2, gold color. I was a little worries because I didn’t want the shoes to be uncomfortable since they’re elastic around the ankle, but they aren’t crazy tight or anything, and I’m actually wishing they had them for adults, they look super comfy 🙂 Freshly Picked also has a handy dandy sizing chart on their website with measurements and it’s printable. The colors that are available are so diverse and well, colorful. Something for everyone! They just came out with a Stone suede that is gorgeous and my other favorite color is the Radiant Orchid, so pretty!

Well today is your lucky day! Freshly Picked is giving away a pair of moccasins to one lucky reader!

If you win, you get to choose the size and color! Good luck everyone!
